Well, looks like no trip to Texas this year. We were planning on heading down the weekend before Thanksgiving but I just priced the flights. Chicago to Galveston is about $500 per person!! I had no idea in the world that air fare would be that high.

Change in direction. Looks like a road trip some where closer. Texas will have to wait until next year. Thanks for all the input people.

Have you checked flights into Houston?Might be cheaper and only 30 minutes away.

Try Southwest airlines to Hobby Airport. Probably cheaper and closer than International by about 40 miles...

Too bad you are going to have your daughter... If you went to Austin, a must see is Esters Follies. The FUNNIEST improv comedy I have ever seen in my life. The back of the stage is a giant window to the sidewalk outside, it creates a unique show. Not kid friendly.
