If your frame is that questionable I would replace it. However finding a boxed frame will make it a bit harder. Frames usually run $300 to $800.

I have been looking for over 3 years and I found a 1967 Boxed frame and it is here.
It came with a 1967 4bbl carb & intake, trunk deck lid, the cowl vent, (mine had a huge hole from Hurricane Sandy dropping a tree branch through it) 2 large floor sections I need to weld in and a solid rolling frame.
Delivered I paid 2 grand.
Needs to be taken apart and cleaned and painted.
My original frame was toast, not repairable as there were some real bad repairs like 1/4 inch plate welded to the under cowl on both sides and rears that couldn't be cut out.
I called every Pontiac yard up and down the West coast and south west every year and they had my name in their computers but never a boxed convertible frame came in.
If one did it still would have cost close to a grand for shipping and then the cost.
It would have been close in price without the extra parts. I bought it and I can now get my car back in order.

Merry Christmas
Thanks
Jack
