'72 455HO A-body info . . .
As mentioned above, a total of 635 455HO optioned '72 GTOs were produced. 310 M22 cars and 325 M40 cars. As also mentioned above, a total of 290 WW5 optioned '72 GTOs were produced. No breakdown as to the transmissions on the WW5 cars, unfortunately. We DO know that a grand total of 10 WW5 optioned 2D27 GTO post coupes were produced - 7 M40 cars and 3 with M22s. In addition, a total of 112 non-GTO '72 A-body cars were 455HO equipped. I believe that I have the M22 / M40 breakdown on those, but not at hand. HTH!
