Not sure if this was posted before, but I do not recall these things at all. This must have been a nightmare to ride, plus the fact that the brake was now the shifter! Not sure why they didn't stick with the regular pedal brake.

i had one of these bikes and it took a whole lot of getting used to. i ended up cutting the forks off and putting extensions on it to make it a chopper and then sold it to a guy down the street. i just never really liked the steering wheel

I just thought it would be harder than heck to steer! Handlebars are widely spaced, and it seems a steering wheel would be very difficult to control. Add to the fact that you'd have to take one hand completely off the wheel to apply the brake (?#@!), whereas on a regular bike you would have a pedal actuated brake, or a handbrake on the handlebar, so you would always have both hands on the handlebar.
Wow, this one looks like it took some kahunas to ride. But in all honesty, with a gearshift on the center bar, an automotive-like steering wheel, maybe a pair of redline tires, perhaps the rear tire being a pie-crust sidewall slick, this would have been the envy of the neighborhood.
