Decal sent yesterday. You probably won't see it until after Christmas.

Did FunctionalShaker send the other decals yet?

Thank you HFR. I did get a note from FunctionalShaker that he mailed the decals to me as well. I'll keep you posted when they land here.

This should give me enough product for all of the patterns, and some of the colors.

I'm still needing some Brewster Green and blue colors to use for color match.

Sounds like Larry has the blue Trans Am bird 493364 (with the wrong group number stamped on it).

Hi HFR, your small nose bird and Trans Am Letters from Functional Shaker arrived over the Christmas holiday.

Thank you to you both for coordinating these, and Thank you Ransom for putting these on loan for this project.

Aren't they done yet?

Seriously, I hope this project is as successful as the '70-2 was.

165th,

I have a new nose/ rear spoiler bird decal # 491530 which is not in original GM package anymore and has a small tear and a few ripples on back and I have pulled masking a bit but is still there.
On front of masking it says 76 PONTIAC FIREBIRD 491530 BUMPER EMB
If you need this I will mail it Monday.

Hi Cressy, thank you offering. What color is it? I found on one of HFR's charts it shows green, but that wouldn't be available in '76. Let me know what color it is, and I appreciate you letting me borrow it to get color scans. I will have to remove the top premask to use it for color so if you'd like to to that before mailing, that's fine too. Thanks again!

165th,

I think its green but then I am color blind, however that part number shows up in the parts catalog as a green front nose decal for 1973 and a rear spoiler decal in green for non trans am in 1974.
Anyway I put it in the mail to you today as you can have it and I don't need it back, will probably take at least a week for you to get it.
Don

Progress is slower than expected. I should have all of the artwork finished already, but I don't

Shooting for end of the month with art, and production expectations in April.

Hopefully some proofs here this month too.

Cressy, thank you for the Brewster Green nose bird! That will be great to use for a color match.

I think blue/light blue is the only color I'm lacking for color matching.

Been reading much of the Stripe info in the archives, and thought I'd better inject
a 1973 fact that I discovered when Ordering my Graphics package for the 73 F455.
The rear Bird Sticker on Formula's only came when the Spoiler was Ordered and
in 1973, the colors were Black or White. That 's it. Additional colors were added
through the years, but in 73 the spoiler Bird was limited to these two colors. My
admiralty blue Car still had the White Bird on the Center of the spoiler, and I thought
it had to be blue until I confirmed. It was White.

Greg

I will answer #3

The bumper sticker style "TRANS AM" decals were used 73 - late 75. After that they became stencil cut individual letters in the same font. This continued into 78. In late 78 the new font was introduced. I had a March build 78 that had the new font. I had friends who had early 78s that had the previous font.

.....anyone have a clue as to why the 1973 and up fender and spoiler decals had that cheesy clear background?...thankfully 70 to 72 were stencil cut....although correct...if I had a 73 and later I would want stencil cut decals...was it probably a new supplier and a mistake??

...but fugly as sin...I recall ordering blue decals for my 1976 birdless charcoal decal equipped TRANS AM as what was going to be the first of several changes...when we went to install them I was like I can not use these, they have that clear border..suffice to say they did not go on...wasn't the clear backing gone by 1975 and you should have been able to get 1975 blue stencil cut....?
