But I thought Langer was the first race for Bill. Didn't GreatGTO say awhile back that they'd take Langer down? |

I said I WAS WILLING TO BUILD, my own car to race Langer, the camaro is not my car. This is when Bill said he would like to run my engine , back when he had the 63 lemans. I used to have an Art Morisson full chassis ready to go but I decided to stay with a street car and the chassis was sold, this happen the first year cv1's were released, so my plans were to build a real street car not a race car before any of this crap started. If I had continued to build my 68 gto race car it probably would have been done by now. Im sure Bill will race anyone that wants a race, including Langer, but it has nothing to do with me other than he is using my short block. After he is done with my engine the compression will be dropped along with a whole new top end for street use. If the question is do I believe he can beat Langer? YES! Bill said it would be a good race, period, no guarantee of a win or anything like. Racing Langer would be the fastest way to quiet everyone down, because if he beat Langer or even came close it pretty much would mean he just beat everyone slower than Langer, that would be all you guys!!! Why waste time with the East Coast Morons ?

[QUOTE=GREATGTO;4819325]I haven't put pressure on anyone, the whole Langer deal was before Bill was even involved with my engine other than building it at that time. Not to the extent it is now.

All you two are is a bunch of keyboard jockeys that talk the talk, but can't walk the walk! |

... dude, you've flown off at the lips for years, and now you run your car a handful of times and you are a superstar drag racer ?? what a joke, if i'm a Keyboard Jockey, then you are nothing more than an Internet Azzclown, lol ... ... i'd like to see you develop a completely new top end (heads & manifold), do all the finish work and assembly, fabricate that manifold, spec & build your own carb (Anderson Port Development), fabricate your own RacePlate style headers, blueprint-spec-machine-assemble your own engine, and then test & tune that engine on the dyno, and then show up at the track and race that same combo ?? ... ... you are a complete IDIOT compared me and you know it, i dont care that you can simply drive that 65' that you've owned for how long now ?? You are not even in the same league as me DS ... ... YOU ARE A CHECK WRITTING PLUMBER, that happens to own a race car, and thats it !!! ...

I said it once and I'll say it again, the 572 is not our ideal engine to build for racing, it was stuff I already had for a low rpm street engine. The crank is very heavy and the bore is small. Lets face it, the cv1 is still on the small side for a 572 ci. Do the calculations yourself, the piston speed gets crazy with a 4.750 stroke, requires a lot of cylinder head Getting ci from stroke without bore being able to follow is not the best way to make a race engine but we are limited in bore with pontiac so it is what it is. Id much rather race you guys with a short deck pontiac with cv1 or cv2's, this is the future as far as I'm concerned. There is a reason why most ehead builds are in the 500 ci range, its because the heads are less and less optimal csa and valve to bore /stroke ratio wise the bigger the engine gets the heads are less effective. How many 540 ci or bigger eheads builds are making over 1000 hp? I dont know of any, not saying they don't exist thats why I'm asking the question. Traditionally with other makes like ford and chevy yes its easy to make big power with big ci engines, id say thats not true with pontiacs because of the bore limitations. Thats why smaller engines 500 ci make good power with pontiac, because thats the sweet spot for the bore and cylinder head limitations. A short stroke engine will perform better than a larger stoke engine with the same cylinder head, the longer stoke just makes a poor performing cylinder heads problems magnify as to where it is a lot less with a smaller engine because the cylinder head demand is not there obviously.
