Just curious to see if anyone else has had this done to their block and what the results were or if there are any other mods which should be considered while the engine is apart.

I have seen that done before, You have to drill some
holes in the slot of the bearings too to get any advantage
from the slot in the block under the bearing.

The numbering is not a big deal as long as the wide chamfer faces the crank weight. But on another note WHOLE E BAT POOP that engine is a disgrace to even a rebuilder much less a race engine. You good sir deserve a award for not at least maming someone. Rod

Mine are this way. Just not as deep as yours I would say.

Did you modify the main bearings in any other way besides adding another oil hole?

just made the hole bigger, there was no groove on the bearing.

Who performed the machine work on your block and did your main bearing look anything like this?
This engine has only had a few NA dyno pulls.

Lynn McHackey probably supplied Used Bearings he had lying around.

Lynn McCarty and BES, What a Disgrace, this engine build has more issues/problems/mistakes than I have ever seen.

The word "Thief" comes to mind when you think you are working with Reputable People/Companies and this is the End Result. Not only was Ed's Money Stolen, think of all the time lost, stress involved and now try to Salvage and rebuild this Brand New Engine.

What brand is the crankshaft? It seems like nobody check the clearance or maybe the bearing crush is minimal and the elongated cut in the saddle were leaking out in the side. But either way it seems like you are rebuilding your brand new proffesionally built engine. Like I said you are a better person than most of us. Goodluck at least you caught all these issues before making some power on this engine.

The crankshaft is a Crower Billet.

If you have good pressure this has never be a problem in my experience.
This may be a good procedure but I do not think it is really necessary under 1600 hp.
