Well some good news. Cammer-6 had given me some info about the key I had found. I had taken the trunk lock out of the car years ago and came across it again when I cleaned the car back out. The key fit that lock!

Thanks for all the interest. I will be moving the updates under the 68-69 GTO Tempest & LeMans Tech forum.
