I have a friend who bought a brand new ram air II firebird from Redman Pontiac in Painesville ohio, He no longer has the car, but it was/is a Nightshade RA II 4 speed car.
We have the original window sticker, warranty card, and hand written bill of sale from redman pontiac. If anyone has the car who might like to have copies of the paperwork, please contact me at [email protected] and I can help you to get the stuff. I have pictures of them on my phone so I may be able to post partials of them. He also has several pictures and even some 8mm drag footage of the car that may also be available Chris

Chris -
Do you know where the car was raced/what racetracks he frequented? When did he sell the car and where did it go? If it stayed local, when did y'all last see it? Was the original engine still in it when he sold it? Scott

He didnt keep it real long, maybe 5 years. He was just out of the service when he bought itHe had a 66-67 GTO when He went in, and Muscle cars were just cars back then he sold it all intact and original, I would have to ask him what year. He raced it at Thompson Drag Raceway in Thompson ohio, mostly just a street car. Daily transportation ya know. Has one picture of it sitting in the driveway, snow on the ground and he was drivin it in the winter, which must have been a handful.
He doesnt know where it went after he sold it, he thought it might have went to PA but not sure

Wow... cool car. Would be neat if it's still around, and the docs could be reunited with it.

Moparcolt, That is some great info.
Would you post the full window sticker and bill of sale if you could? Does he remember when he picked it up? I am really interested in when it was ordered verses when it came in. Plus if it was one of the early RAII cars, it would be interesting what the paperwork states for a price or if there was an adjustment. Brian

I know Mr. Wempe has a nightshade green RAII bird. I don't know if that would be the same car Mattison owned or not.
Is there something on Moparcolts docs that guarantee this is a RAII and not a RAI?

Yeah he told me that after he ordered it, they notified him the RA Motor was discontinued and was going to be substituted with a 69 spec motor, which would be the RA II, I dont know if RAII's were ever in 69 cars but that was the story they gave him

I'll have to ask him if there was any additional charge for the substituted engine, I can't remember what he told me about that. He was going to order a Ram Air 68 GTO but changed his mind and opted for the lighter Firebird. He has a quote for the GTO as well.
He would love to find his old car if it is still out there somewhere.

Here it is later wearing a pair of chevy rally wheels. I took these with my cell phone and was having trouble getting it to focus, If I had scanned them they would look better but It was all I had at the time
