I hope he gets it. I've seen many people buy a project because they can afford it. They plan to do it "right" some day. If they follow thru and spend the time and money, they often will look back and say I could have saved a ton by just buying a finished car. Some spend along as money allows.... That's the only thing I can figure when I see these projects bring that kind of money.

My thoughts and opinion haven't changed a bit , no matter what it bids to.

And on the other hand , if it makes a real sale over 12-15k - that is probably good for those of us who might be about ready to let go of some Judge projects .

I don't think the folks who write a check for a done car are interested in a project car, and I also think that, for the most part, folks who are interested in project cars are not interested in a completely restored or "done" cars. The concept of buying a done car sounds good, but in my opinion, it's not all that it's cracked up to be.

Case in point - I bought a 68 hemi Roadrunner - paid $30k for it. It was a freakin' gorgeous car and a real RR, but not an original hemi car. Owner had spent $80k on it and got in a bind for $. He hadn't even driven the car. Anyway, that car sat in the garage for most of the 3 years that I owned it. Took it to one local "cruise-in." Had a lot more fun and spent a lot more time behind the wheel of my beater primer/Carousel '69 Judge that I pulled out of a barn and got back on the road.

If this hobby was all about the bottom line, no one would buy project cars and restore them - - unless you find a RAIV Judge for $5k and restore yourself, you're not likely to break even.
