Rear diff isn't original, either - the 5084 diff is the nodular rear ("N" cast into the top) for the Heavy Duty Safe-T-Track (incorrectly referred to as Safety-Lock in the ad) option. Also came with the forged axles and 4 pinion diff. They did get the XH code right.

Car would have come with a gray iron peg leg, but I forget what ratio you got with an auto car w/o A/C.

Thanks read the thread, and then went to the Restoration Guide and it states that the GTO name plate on non-air-condition models was discontinued mid Feb 1969. It refers to a Dealer Service Information Bulletin 69-1-49, dated 2-24-69. It also states that it was brought back in 1970, but this time a black Pontiac nameplate covered the center air-conditioning duct opening.
