As I mentioned before, she's vastly overrated. But NASCAR (and especially Tony Stewart) is making tons of money promoting her "star power".

Danica is the Kim Kardashian of NASCAR.

But.....the girl CAN drive a road course, as she showed us all last year. That was a HUGE surprise to me.

As for the rest of her racing career, there's a reason Rahal-Letterman got rid of her all those years ago. She was always the focus of the Indy 500, she brought in advertisers and viewers, but after a couple years, her luster began to fade, so they they dumped her. Rahal knew she didn't have what it took to be a champion.

She'll continue to sell products and promote NASCAR, or Indy, or whatever she does. She's a star, but she's not a star for her racing talent.

Danica (30th - 53 pts) and Newman (31st - 50 pts.) have been having real similar problems out there. Crapping out.

Newman is a heck of a driver with plenty of experience.
Been surprised he hasn't been able to supply better feedback to get his race set-ups more dialed in. Probably real ashamed he is not ahead of Danica.

They are at the top of the Non-Threat category right now.

Still have high hopes for her if they can get their good stuff to work better at these non-superspeedway tracks.

Really think she could stay top 15 with the right car every week.
But so could about all the others too.
so many variables - so little time

I would disagree with your contentions.

Wanica and Ryan may be close in the points this year, but that is where most of the similarities end.

Wanica started on the pole at Daytona and drove her way to 8th. Ryan started 34th and raced his way to 4th.

Both went out in a wrecks at Phoenix. Ryans car was bad from the start and wrecked early - they made repairs but he wrecked again and was out. Wanica wrecked much later.

Now Las Vegas.... Ryan lost an engine and finished 38th. Wanica finished the race and finished 33rd.

With Ryan - he has the talent to move up significantly in the points as the season moves forward - I would expect that to happen this weekend where Ryan has an average finish of 14th at Bristol. I'm not optimistic that Wanica can finish well in Bristol - as her average finish there in Nationwide is 20th and Cup is 29th.

I posted back about a month or 2 ago that the only reason Tony signed Wanica was to pay for his third team.

He's "said" nice things about her - he has to - he's the team owner and he wants Go Daddy's money. I don't think he believes it though.
