she wasn't put there to win ,she was put in racing to draw more women to watch racing and for men to use as eye candy,I am sure there are other woman that can race better than her,but they may be rough looking

My wife and daughter were with me when Shawna Robinson became the first female to qualify on the pole in NASCAR history back in 1994 in Atlanta. If Shawna would have had the quality of equiment that Iwanica has, she would have been a serious contender. If you go to a race in person - you will see that the crowd has a lot of couples and families. Probably a higher percentage of females at a NASCAR race than at a ball game. The other females that have raced in NASCAR were not "rough" looking and had more talent than Iwanica. What they didn't have was the financial backing that Iwanica has because they didn't constantly pose seductively for anyone with a camera. |

As expected, the Ice Princess was the last car that wasn't involved in a wreck to finish the race - 28th...
Which is the same place in the standings that she now holds... Of course, A.J. Allmendinger is within 5 points of her, but has only had a ride for 2 races (Phoenix and Bristol)...

I suggest we keep this thread going for the season to track her actual performance, wins v losses, etc. |

![]() But to be fair - it's not wins vs losses. I think it should be top 10's vs 20th or worse. With the equipment that she is being provided and the years of experience that she has, a decent race car driver (male or female) should be able to finish routinely in the top 20. So Iwanica's current stat chart is: 1 top 10, no finishes between 11 - 20, 3 finishes below 20 - currently in 28th place Her main squeeze, Ricky Stenhouse Jr., is also competing for Cup Rookie of the Year. He has less racing experience than Iwanica, but look at his results: no top 10's, 4 finishes between 11 - 20, no finishes below 20 - currently 11th in the points (which would put him in the Chase if the season ended today) Both drivers have similar equipment. The difference is driving talent. One has earned a Cup ride, the other hasn't. |

Who's got a grand to gamble on her winning a Cup race this year? Anyone? Anyone?

Need to bring this back to the main page...
![]() Everyone can now vote for the Sprint All Start Race in May: Quote:
It probably won't make any difference if she gets voted in because of the stipulation that she has to finish on the lead lap.FWIW - I voted for he main squeeze - Rickey Stenhouse Jr. He's earned the opportunity by being in the Top 12 - which would have him in the Chase if he can keep it up. You can vote by using the NASCAR Mobile '13 application or online at NASCAR.COM. Votes cast from the NASCAR Mobile '13 application count double. I think they want you to get the NASCAR app... |

Nascar will make sure she is in the race for TV exposure.

you would still hear the Waltrips say how she should have been in the race. MUTE or listen to PRN with Eli.

Others have posted here the lack of fans in the stands at various races...contrary to that one would be led to believe the media's "Saint Danica" hype that she will save NASCAR...but then crickets during the last race where her performance was less than "Saint like".
NASCAR, Waltrips, ESPN, SPEED/FOX need to take the clue that the fans whose money pays for all are much more sophisticated and simply vote with their feet when the hype proves to be no more than hot air again & again... I really don't know where or when next race is...unless a high bank or road course I'm probably not interested...and if I hear one more time about how great a 20th place or worse driver is... |

It's California this weekend.
Maybe Iwanica can create some excitement by wearing a bikini at the track...
