He was too aggressive with everyone those last laps, but I too give him a pass (no pun intended) regarding the block on Fastso. I'm sure NASCAR is covering it with him.

I'm a Tony Stewart fan, but I have to say I didn't see anything wrong with Logano blocking Stewart with only a few laps to go.
Tony Stewart just blew his top, and I think it's a combination of the fact that Danica (his driver) ain't looking so pretty these past few races, and the fact Ryan Newman (his other driver) is not having a good season. Stewart sees Joey Logano as a little rich kid, what he considers the "new blood" in the sport, where mommy and daddy fund your racing career. Tony Stewart had poor parents, who sacrificed a great deal to support Tony. Tony is the "old school" guy, working his way up through the various racing series, cutting his teeth on local dirt tracks. Joey Logano never worked a day in his life, and at the tender age of 18, they sat him in the Home Depot car, the very same car Tony Stewart made famous. But here's the irony. Stewart hates it when these silver spoon kids get a ride in a top notch race car, yet didn't go through the pain and suffering that you're supposed to go through to make it to Sprint Cup. That's why he hates Logano. But Stewart did exactly that with Danica Patrick, allowing her to jump into a top notch Sprint Cup car without her paying her dues on short tracks, dirt tracks, or proving herself in Nationwide for a few years. And seriously, Tony Stewart was pissed off about blocking down low? Wasn't Tony the one that was caused a wreck at the pre-season Daytona race, and he admitted he intentionally blocked Marcus Ambrose, causing a massive 6-car pileup? And it was Tony Stewart, leading at Talladega on the last lap, that admitted he intentionally blocked a hard charging Michael Waltrip that triggered a massive 25-car pileup last fall, which forced Dale Earnhardt Jr. to miss two races because of concussion symptoms. But....I still like Tony Stewart. Hard nosed, great driver, multi-talented, he reminds me of A.J. Foyt.

I think in this case Hamlin was racing clean and was giving him all the room he needed coming through 3 & 4 - but Joey was in blocking mode and it cost Hamlin a night in the hospital.

Denny Hamlin has a compression fracture in his lower back. Not sure how long he'll be out.
Roger Penske defended his driver Joey Logano, who now appears to be the most unpopular driver in the garage area (maybe Juan Pablo Montoya is giving Joey some pointers?). It's true that Logano's dad's business (Waste Management) has netted him a fortune, and his dad wanted to see the dreams of his son Joey, and his daughter (a figure skater), come true, so he bankrolled their careers. Joey had run-ins with Ryan Newman and Kevin Harvick in the past where it nearly came to blows. He also ticked off the usually very sedate Elliot Sadler last year in a Nationwide race when Joey dumped Elliot on the last lap. So on Logano's poop list are : Tony Stewart, Ryan Newman, Kevin Harvick, and Elliot Sadler. Is it a coincidence that Stewart and Harvick are best friends, and Newman drives for Stewart, and Sadler for Harvick? They all seem to have an axe to grind now with Logano. During the race broadcast, either McReynolds or Waltrip made a comment that Logano was not well-liked while on the Gibbs team, which surprised me a bit. But after I thought about it, Kyle Busch and Denny Hamlin always raced Logano hard in the Sprint or Nationwide Series, as if he was from a rival team, so maybe it's true. Logano IS a good driver, he can handle a road course and a high speed track. The kid is pretty talented. As for the Hamlin crash, Joey was low and trying to push as hard as he could and his car washed up into Hamlin. That was Logano's fault, but it was NOT intentional. It was Joey not wanting to back off when he should have. Logano did the same thing a couple years ago when he slid up into Ryan Newman, who crashed out of the race. Newman tracked Logano down after the race and nearly flattened him national TV.

It has made me wonder where the true talent comes from. Does it come from your daddy or Sugar Daddy getting you into a great ride and then you get experience, Legano, Menard, Patrick, or in Montoya's case, diversity and sponsorship? As much as I hate to admit it DE Jr. also gets great rides because of his name. As someone on these boards says, just sayin'.

There has to be some talent in each of them, simply having the right car with the right crew isn't enough.

There may be more than just Denny that's gunning for Joey at Martinsville.
