I put a new tank on my firebird this winter,On the advice of others i cleaned and degreased it they sprayed a clear coat on it. looks good

eastwood makes a paint called tank tone which is a bright zinc metallic coating which according to them replicates OEM appearance and has a zinc formula that prevents corrosion. havent used it yet so cant tell much about it but eastwood has a lot of good products maybee you can check local auto paint store for simmular product

If sll you do is put clear on your tank to cover it , your going to be sorry. The clear will turn yellow & every time you spill even a little bit of gas down the fill tube it will stain the outside of your tank & look terrible. If your going to paint it do it with a silver paint as it won't show as bad as the clear will.
