As with many of you I have been wondering what color this really is. There is not a lot of examples out there to compare to, and when you do a google picture search for the code 24 family (Olds - Nordic Blue, Chevrolet - Ascot Blue) there is a range from silvery blue/gray, to a lighter blue with less silver sheen. The Lucerne Blue on the other hand seem to be spot on and everyone knows what color that is. So we did 3 different spray outs of BC/CC and one original Dupont 5464L Laquer to compare to the 1972 PPG color chart. Below are some comparisons of the sprayouts to the color chart and a side by side comparison of Lucerne Blue and the Adriatic Blue spoiler tips to get an idea of how Adriatic varies from Lucerne Blue.

Hi 'ole Pinion Head, that is great that you have a couple of code 24 455HO's in the nest. I'd love to see a couple of pictures of them, especially the '72TA! Also, would you mind sharing what color formula you decided to go with and a spray out if you have it too?

Greg, I would think that this car had to be ordered by a Pontiac executive of some sort in order to get the special order interior. The fact that the car was shipped to a delaer in Temple, Texas makes me wonder if a zone manager ordered it.
Is there any sales paperwork that lists the name of the original owner or any susequent owners prior to the guy in Houston (Spring) that Steve bought it from?
I have had a bit of success (partially due to access to some tools because of my job) for tracking down previous owners of cars.
I was able to find and talk to 4 previous owners of my 72 Trans Am in one week, the first guy having owned the car in the 80's (man was he shocked to get my phone call).

We have some information on a couple of the previous owners so far, and an urban legend that this car was purchased new by someone in Dallas after being delivered to RO Evans Pontiac in Dallas. I wonder if a car could actually be delivered to a different dealer than shown on the PHS? Does anyone know this dealership?
