No! The GTO/Lemans would have the WM or YB because the unitized ignition, T-41 option and RAM AIR were ALL mandatory options.

Doubt that, would need to ck '72 factory literature for exact verbiage. Have a fairly large database & tons of '72 HO A-bodys listed. all I have listed have WM's or YB engine codes. That goes along with all '72 HO A-bodys being packaged with endura nose, Ram Air & K65 unit ign.

Took quite a while but I went through all the '72 T/A's in my database that I have info on built before end of '71 calender year. So far, '72 T/A's ordered with WM's & YB's outnumber WD's & YE's nearly 20-1. my sample size is only a 1/10 of production & definitely could be bigger, but there seems to be a trend.

Paint looks nice but the side vents were either removed or different fenders installed. Wonder what the original color was...Rosewood?

Yeah, nice car. Doesn't mention anything about number matching engine or tranny. Too bad it wasn't a 4spd.
