Not necessarily. Can you envision how an adhesive could shrink over time and pull the metal down with it? If windshield adhesive shrinks holding a windshield in, it would be a non-factor as all it would do is pull the windshield in tighter and provide a better seal. If you glue metal to metal and its going to pull, the hood is a lot thinner than the brace. And I'll bet windshield urethane probably shrinks down to 50-75% of its original thickness as it cures.
