The original heater hoses on GTO's did not say GM on them. They should
have the ribs on them running lengthwise down one side of the hose with no lettering. On the radiator hoses, if yours have the correct part number and two letter code on them with the GM logo, then perhaps they docked you because they did not have the word radiator stamped on the end that goes to the radiator with an arrow below the word pointing to the radiator. The repro hoses that everbody sells don't have the radiator stamp on them. You have to do that yourself. You can have a stamp made, or you can buy one from Inline Tube. Also, some original Radiator hoses came with a stripe running down them so they were easy to spot in the parts bin. You can't buy hoses with stripes, but if you find out what colors were used on your application you can mask off the hose and stripe it yourself. The point judged judges have gotten extremely picky so if they found an original hose car and observed what the original hose looked like and yours doesn't have the proper stripe or radiator logo on it you would get docked. |
