Has anybody put rear seat belts in their '65?
Does anybody have rear seat belts in their '65? Prior to getting the car towed into the shop, I took out the interior to see what the floorboards look like. (good.)
I was also half expecting to find some old seat belts that had been stuffed under the cushion. Or at least some anchor points for the belts. I found nothing - so I'll most likely be getting some installed so I can drive the kids around. Does anyone know where my anchor points should be? As always, thanks in advance.

Look for dimples in the floor pan where they should be drilled. I remember reading in a thread that they're there. I'll be doing the same thing in a week or two. Should be one on each side of the tunnel, and one on each side towards the outside of the car.
BTW....That's a real solid floor you've got there!

A sheet metal vendor sold me these at Carlisle when I told him I wanted to put rear seat belts in my 64 Lemans. So I bought 4 of them, I think they were $6 each??
He said they are for a Mopar, (hopefully they won't rattle) |

I can scan and email or mail you a copy of the factory installation sheet. I have to go to a kinkos to do it though as It's like a size D or E sheet. PM me.

here are a few pics . maybe more helpful. measurement is from inner wheel house flange. The outside mount locator is round it and is not as obvious. but there are punch marks for exact locations of reinforcement plate and bolt hole.

Scans of Seat belt instructions.
I had all four instruction sheets scanned including the care instructions. The 64 and 65 seat belt mounting is the same. These sheets came out of NOS seat belts I had purchased. The forum won't let me upload them because they are slightly bigger than the 300K limit. PM me with your email address and I'll email you these PDF's. Then you take them (or email them) to your local Kinko's and have them printed. They are approximately drawing size C size.

Good information here. Does anyone know if this information is the same for a 1964 Catalina hardtop? And if so I would love to see those PDF files.

Location of bolts is not critical. There are plenty of pictures on this board showing where to drill the holes. Once installed, you won't see the anchors.
Sure glad I put mine in--my grandsons love riding back there--to St. Charles last year and Dayton this year.

rear seat belt hardware
64/65 correct hardware , you can adjust the length you want. chevy used the same set-up back then.

here are a few pics of my 1965 GTO that had dealer installed rear seat belts that were installed prior to taking delivery of the car back in December of 1964...Hope this helps
