I had an A/C shop pump Freeze 12 in mine. Works very well.

I recently bought five 14 ounce cans for $125...and a couple weeks later found an old R12 recovery system for $80 that had half a 30 lb tank full of R12 in it. I gave that machine to my A/C licensed mechanic buddy to use on my car (and other similarly situated old cars). :-)

For comparison, the local Autozone is selling R134 for $23 a can so at $25 a can for the old 14 ounce R12 cans, it wasn't that bad. It is legal to buy on CL, Ebay, etc., if you have a license or are purchasing it for a licensed shop to install it.
