I wouldn't be surprised if your air cleaner just had one vacuum pod/bracket replaced over the years. My 12B built '72 Formula has the correct ram air cleaner that appears to be the original and both vacuum pod brackets have the studs. I believe they couldn't mount the support brackets to the engine in '72 due to the new position of the temp sender in the drivers side head so the studed cleaners were just remaining inventory. When I replaced both my vacuum pods, the replacement pods came with non-studed hold down brackets, so I reused my original studed brackets. If I remember mine correctly, the original hold on brackets for the vacuum pods will say Thermac AC in raised letters or something like that next to the stud and the replacements do not. Will look at mine and post a pic tonight if it will help.
