I have a 1969 Pontiac Grand Prix and the fuel guage registers full all the time. I have replaced the sending unit in the tank but problem still remains. What will it take to resolve this issue?

This usually happens when you're loosing the ground somewhere, usually at the top of the tank where the sending unit goes into the tank.

I will check the connections at the top of the tank. Is there a separate ground wire for the sending unit? Thank you for your feedback.

Yes, the ground will go from the ring of the sending unit to a chassis ground somewhere in the trunk floor area.
