Time for an update on Adrian's progress. Body work is nearing completion. The shell is fully blocked and nearly ready for color. Yay.

I am so proud of the work Muscle Car Memories restorations is doing on her. Steve and crew are open to suggestions and flexible on the direction we are taking her. Also, they don't seem to mind a nosy customer popping in every now and then. They even opened the shop up early Saturday morning for my visit where I found her curing in the paint booth!

As expected on a concour restoration even the underside is getting some glaze coat to get rid of the acne/pitting caused by the many years this car sat in the east Texas fields.

Here's something you don't see very often, a NOS front bumper. It was clear Adrian had taken a hit on the drivers front corner at some point. The drivers fender and radiator core support were '73+ parts. The rebuild was poorly done and the shop chose to do some shaving on the front bumper to get everything to fit up. Hmmmm.....

In addition to the questionable fender fitment approach the front bumper had also taken quite a beating from the Texas corn and hay stalks that were often mowed down when a previous owner, 'WC' was using Adrian to heard cows on his dairy farm.

Yes, it's true. With help from some Forum members here, we have been doing research on previous owners, and have been enjoying the stories that have been shared by folks who have known this car. A body shop owner near Emory TX remembers the car well from the mid '80's as it was one of the few hot rods in town, and recalls WC using the car to heard dairy cows. In these period pictures circa '98 You can see the scrape marks in the paint where the stalks were mowed down and detail of the front bumper fitment too.

One of the great benefits to having MMR restore the car is Steve's propensity to either have or be able to come up with rare NOS parts for these early second gens. In addition to the NOS front bumper he found, Steve was able to source a perfect set of NOS tail light bezels and SAE STAIR 70 dated lenses. These will be mounted to an already installed NOS rear tail panel that he acquired early on and held back for the car years before the quality repro started being produced.
