The Japs have moved away from belts and back to chains with guides, for cam accuracy. I was running a v block timing belt engine with the cover off. The belt would "whoop up" between the cams at higher rpm,s even with a heavy spring loaded oil dampened tentioner/slack adjuster.

The "10 mile" comment was about the fact that they are driving both cams with the same chain and how long it is.
