I know my motor peaks at 6600 but It will flat line past 7500 (same hp) Its faster when I shift at 7300 then when I shift at 6800. I always thought it was because of the extra momentum/inertia from the 500 more rpm's.

winner. plus if its flat you raise the average by taking it to the higher rpm it will fall to a higher number on the shift.=raising the average.

It's the SAME total HP we were talking about.

How much time does you're engine spend at a low RPM?

Mine is basically at a 1000 RPM range if not less.

Not HP at a high RPM or even low RPM, just good old HP!

If you're ET's don't equate to you're HP, then something on your car needs work.
