The guy wants 38.5 and he won't even dust the damn thing off for pictures?

I'm really chuckling at "asking $38,500 dollars O.B.O please don't try to nickel and dime the price down." Saying "O.B.O." is really an invitation to do just that...

You would think that the Motorcycle could be moved out of the way to get a full view photo and the rag on the floor near the front tire could have been picked up, before squeezing off the pictures to post with this ad.

Perhaps that's just "Nickle and Dime" distraction for the $38.5k ask...?

Default something smells fishy

The crappy pictures were bad enough, but I have a hard time believing someone who owned a GTO 42 years since new would post an ad with this kind of wording. It just looks too amature to me.

Hello, for sale I have my 1971 Pontiac GTO, I bought it brand new, it is a one owner car 49,000 ORIGINAL miles, my car is in pristine condition and is ready to go, garage kept, blue exterior with a excellent white vinyl hardtop, interior is also blue in perfect condition, asking $38,500 dollars O.B.O please don't try to nickel and dime the price down, this car is priced as a steal already. the car is ready to rock and roll come take her home (if you can keep her on the road)
If it is what he says it is, maybe he should be going through a classic auction dealer.

Fishy indeed. Noticed no mention of the engine?

It may be a 49K car but to me it looks like the car has had a cheap repaint at some time & who doesn't wipe the car off before taking pics of it. No pic of the insides & no pics of the engine or trunk area. I want to know whats hiding under & in the car.

It sure does look like a base coat/clear coat paint job. I suppose it is Lucerne blue but it looks a little too bright to me.

It's like some scam artist snuck inside this dude's garage and took some quick cell phone pics to run a fake ad.
Also, the 'seller' is trying to avoid contact by email, but gives an un-disguised phone number.
Someone should call that and ask some questions about the engine & body tag.
I wonder if the 42 year GTO owner will say it has a big block.
