Not sure where in Canada u are located but I have a 65 diff, out of a 65 Lemans. should be the same housing. Can look for numbers if wanted. Has 256 open. Might save a little on shipping??

'ol Pinion head mentions earlier that the 9777142 rear end was used in '65 A-bodies. For your reference, I have a better picture of this housing below.

Does anyone own a 1965 GTO on this forum with a 9777142 casting rear end that is known to be original to your car?

I am really trying to get to the bottom of this casting number thing. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks!

I agree. I would imagine this would be a decision of the Moderators? I can't find any options to move it myself. I have seen some threads on this forum dealing with casting numbers on '64 rear ends, but few on the '65 editions. If moved, this thread could serve us '65 owners well into the future.
