Back in the late 90's I drove the car roundtrip from NC - AZ two different times! As of lately it's spent a good bit of time in the garage but I'm planning on driving it a lot more this year.

Hmmm- probably worth more than some real Judges with a celebrity status.

I saw it at a car show in Pearland (Houston suburb) in '95. I still have the show an old VHS tape. Car looked nice but only a handful of people there knew its celebrity at that point.

Welcome! Many years ago I think the "pretty" car was on ebay.
I was shocked to see it as I only first saw the movie around 1999.
I actually printed the ebay ad and that has the VIN.
If I find that info I'll send you the VIN to see which car it was.
Actually - I found my post on a Yahoo group I joined, "The Moontower", and I actually found my post from May 6th 2003! I think the car on Ebay was the "pretty" car, not yours. At least this way both cars are "known".

Thanks for the info, I believe the ad is too old to be viewed now, though (or at least I can't see it). It definitely wasn't mine since I'd had it long before the auction -- must've been the auto (car #1). I don't really need the vin... unless others are documenting the cars. I had no idea there was this much interest in the cars used 20 years ago. I also had no idea my introductory thread would reach 3 full pages!

LOL....You'll see if you stick around long enough. The guys and girls here love trivia associated with our marque..and if it was an actual Judge, it would probably go 50 pages. Those guys will extend a topic on correct-factory-tire-air to 10 or 12 pages.

Not really...not more then a real Judge.....typically, run of the mill celeb owned / movie cars when just used as props don't add very much, if anything to a sale value.

You are still just buying the car....

JL Harper, I would agree -- it's still just a car (although a special one). To the right buyer it's probably worth a little more than a comparable gto in similar condition but certainly much less than an authentic judge. I've kept it all these years and haven't sold it yet, so I doubt we'll ever know the official number. I do like the original pepper green paint scheme, probably my favorite gto color... Obviously I'll never paint this one back original but wouldn't mind finding another one down the road... If the wife would allow it that is

I would tend to think a car with a movie pedigree would be worth more.Example the original 32 Ford coupe in American Graffitti would bring a lot more than another run of the mill 32 Ford coupe.

The guys aren't disputing that it's worth more than a run of the mill '70 GTO in comparable condition. It certainly is. What they are saying is that it's not worth more than a real Judge....and I'd have to agree with them.

Yeah,I agree I don't think it would pull more money than a original numbers matching etc.Judge.I will say the 70 GTO movie car has alot of exposure from maybe millions of people watching the movie to Dazed and Confused 70 GTO diecast cars,which will effect the value the amount would be anybodys guess.And who can forget the opening scene with the 70 GTO pulling into the lot with Aerosmith in the back ground classic!

We have seen dozens of them....Johnny Carson's wifes 455 vert, Punisher GTOs, Christina Ricci (sp) TA, Reggie Jacksons various cars.....even the GTO JFK Jr "almost bought"

Special paint/colors and run of the mill Celeb owned don't typically add a lot (if anything) from the ones I have seen.

Exceptions to every rule, like I mentioned "an Icon" : McQueen, ect.

The real value is the actual car/bike/ truck....they stand on their own for future value.
