I am slightly dazed and confused....but am I to understand that this Lucerne blue 1970 T/A with a RA IV sold for $147000????.....because I just may paint mine the same colour......because that is FUBAR if it is true....

Rare and desirable is what someone paid for.

As Norwood said if his original owner checked the RA IV option he would be in a 200K plus more car! A Lucerne blue 4 speed sold for 250K recently?

thanks JUDGE273 for clearing that up for me....yet I would think a 70 RA 4 is comparable to a 72 H.O....should transmissions & air really matter?....I would think more about original mileage,numbers matching......is it more ''survivor'' or totally redone?.....I do not understand how or why colour should matter or even later N.O.S. fender replacement(which on this car did not matter)...I need to learn more about this car and auction.....is this auction legit?...E BAY can be rigged...and I am not knocking RA III cars as they are first year and low back seats and chrome bezels,unique door panels...a 71 or 72 H.O.should be = 70 RAIV....in the photos it looks great, but pics are not real life...it doesnt have air??....my only concern was this auction real??...someone,not me!..needs to auction there car at Mecun? and lets see what happens!!

you are kidding correct? 71 or 72 HO's being as valuable as a IV?? oh dear... you really are lost if you believe that..then again, guess you own a 72 and are hoping against facts.. 70 RAIV's were low production, 89 total cars or so, high compression engines etc. 71 's are sort of the last gasp, 72 HO engines started messing with pollution control type systems. Changed the intake etc.. 71/72 HO unrestored,but togather is a 20-25k car, fully mack daddy restored 60K on a good day, but that level of resto will cost you 40k-50K just to get to maybe a 60K car. Your 72 HO will never be worth 1/4 of IV's.. And I will say it today, we are near the top of this current ralley in muscle car prices.. looks way too similar to the Mopar run, Camaro run etc.. during all previous runs, 2nd gen TA's never took off and they won't again.. I wish they would, but short of an extremely low production variant, will not happen.

70 RAIV TA production = 88
71-72 TA production =~3,400

Performance-wise, not really much of a difference. Rare and desireable is what attracts the $$ and the RAIVs have a reputation that captures that crowd that the 455HO doesn't (because it being low compression), rational or not.
