I've had the base original pertronix units in all my old cars for years and years no problem. You do need to remove the distributor to install it properly and check the gaps
on the unit. I would be of the opinion if someone had a failure they didn't install it properly. You can't just stuff the parts in there with the distributor in the engine and hope for the best. |
