I say someone stole the antifreeze out of the jug and put colored water in it. 50/50 antifreeze shouldn't freeze at 0°s... if that's what you had. Straight antifreeze is good to -84°s. I say someone is messin with ya. Or..... the store it came from is commiting fraud. Get an antifreeze tester and see how good whatever it is in the jug is.

The anti-freeze was from wal mart. Never had an issue with it before.
Temps were in the teens and over night we has some negatives with a windchill of close to -15 to -25. That being said, it was inside the back of the car so I was a little surprised that it was frozen... I probably should test it... Wonder if manufacturers claims aren't always what they claim? ![]()

Wal Mart... now that explains things. I've got 50/50 here and it's never foze. Up in northern NY were it gets colder than -25, I never saw it freeze out in the garage or when I carried in the car. I still say there was something other than antifreeze in that jug of yours.

Paul, post a photo of it first please. Side view to show the impeller's vane contour.

GT182: what brand of antifreeze are you using? Normally it's Peak or Prestone for me. Not a connoisseur of fluids- try to use what works. (Hail from warm climate areas, never really worried about freezing- until now!!!
)Old Blue 66: I second the motion. We need pics...

I haven't seen it and probably wont. Its coming from a reliable, trusted parts source here on PY and Ill just have him ship it directly to the company that will rebuild it.

So, if a 1964 unit will work, what model year/ engine size pumps will work for my 1967 326 application? Maybe I can start hunting around for a pump or at least a CORRECT impeller.
