Poppy stuff was what was sold then. What a world it was back then. One car families. One income families. Our family luxury was color TV and buying our home. We didn't have AC in our cars.

What was sold then (musically and entertainmently speaking) was being controlled by a generation that had evolved at a slower pace. (Not that that's a bad thing)

Dylan, The Beatles, etc. were artists who were taking the reins of control away from people who didn't understand their 'art' ... much like Buddy Holley would have, I believe.

Hollywood was selling Beach Blanket movies and totally ludicrous 'hippie' representations while Viet Nam and Woodstock were happening....
