in a few weeks I am ordering A.C.I.front foam and deluxe covers like MEZZO...I was going to also order A.C.C. carpet from e bay as they offer free ship, also on the early cars there is that tail, no tail business between the seats and they offer those 2 styles...they are supposed to be one of the best, like $130...want this interior project put to rest!!

if it's of any consequence, my replacement carpet is an ACC.

I tried both brands in my 73 with red interior and the ACC fit the front floor considerably better than Trim Parts. Both fit the rear LH pan equally poor for some reason.

My carpet arrived. Took it out of the box and laid it out. Very nice quality. It's preformed to the floor pan. Pictures to follow once door panels and seat covers arrive. Maybe I'll put together a u-tube video once I am ready to go head with the installation.

I know the heat stamped detail is correct with some seat covers & door panels;
I am assuming that legendary didn't do this, because it's not correct?

yes, all 1970 to 1977 deluxe uppers have stitched seams..the P.U.I. have wrinkles even when installed...the price difference is $100

look at them;
one panel (PUI; which apparently doesn't fit properly) has heat pressed (simulated) stitching, and the insert doesn't look as good - where as the better one (Legendary; which fits properly) has actual stitching, and better looking insert...

Just received a sample of bright blue vinyl from Legendary. Thickness and color look good. Grain pattern is a little more "pebbly" than original Madrid.

I just last week rec'd my Legendary ribbed (standard) headliner in medium blue from PY for the 71 T/A and I'm very happy with the color and quality....it took about 2 weeks for them to process the order....

they do take awhile..but 2 weeks is not bad..I am certain it was just made for you car!!..they have the best stuff...cannot wait till I need a perforated deluxe headliner as that will tell me I am done!!!

If anyone is interested, and if it's still available, you can purchase original material from SMS and have Legendary make the seat covers etc. for you. Legendary told me that their comfort weave is not the same as original, but they're working on changing that.

LEGENDARY is great regarding that..imagine getting the 70 to 73 custom interior with the not to common fabric option...they also do full do overs (new foam,new covers)..most either do it themselves or a local trim shop..but I have to believe that there people with everything at there disposal can turn out a perfect recovered seat no problem..I am getting my seats done and really believe that new A.C.I. foam is going to get me that perfect seatcover (trucker slang?) I really want..it will be $200 extra per seat but the 42 year old original foams time is up...beware of non A.C.I.(original GM supplier) less expensive knock-off foam

The downside of having them redo the whole seat is the cost of shipping the seats.

I'm having a local trim shop (LA Trim) in Lowell MI sew up covers for me using nos comfort weave from SMS and was wondering about seat foam differences so thanks for this post. What differences have you noticed between ACI foam and others? If anyone else has information/opinions I'd be interested in hearing them.
