Going from memory, the first baffled 2nd Gen T/A oilpans came out in '73. The '73 model pan has the small center hole & two slots like the right hand one in Bob's pic. believe that style rear seal was also used in '74.

A Pontiac engine builder I supplied 400 cores to for many years never liked that rear seal arrangement, he preferred the later pan with multiple slots (non baffled or the baffled oil pan) or the '72 & earlier oilpans with no slots. A '72 oil pan is same as '70-72 & in a '72 HO engine will run the 455 version of the short windage tray.
