You're right, any throttle body of appropriate size will work... it's just an air valve. I use an older, 1000 cfm Holley TBI, minus the injector pods, as a throttle body. It has the TPS and IAC built in. In your application, it would still look like a blow-thru carb set up, sort of... I got my injectors off ebay for about $80, new in the box (LS1, Bosch type, 36pph ).
