Jr won back to back (then) Busch series titles over drivers like Matt Kenseth before moving on to the Cup series. As mentioned above, Danica was mediocre in the Nationwide series at best, and has continued that in the Cup series.
Danica was a nasty b*tch in IndyCar, nothing was ever her fault and that carried over with her to NASCAR. She has gotten much better at what she says, but her facial and body language tell another (old) story. If she got the same press and recognition as her boyfriend there wouldn't be an issue, at least with me, but DW and several others treat her like she's the second coming of King Richard.
Just my assessment of the situation.
