New 3-disc clutch worked good but dropped 3 cylinders at half track. 7.186
Slightly scored a couple mains. Fresh bearings and we try again tomorrow.

Ah...I just saw this. There really isn't a way to avoid damaging the bearings when this happens...there's too much fuel going into the engine, so it's not like we can get out of the throttle quick enough anyway.

Perspective from an old fat shade-tree..
Any Pump will loose efficiency if pushed passed 100% of what they are designed for.
Are the rods sucking/slinging oil away from the mains?

Y'all are the smartest Pontiac guy's on the planet. Get this thing figured out.

Now I'll sneak back to the street side.

Yes, bearing shell falls out of the cap when disassembled. When the bearing cools, it shrinks in at the parting line.

Using a Peterson R4 oil pump...well within it's capability. It can free-flow 42 gpm with the -20 suction line that we used. When we switched to the dry sump system, they stressed that the flow capacity was directly (and dramatically) related to the suction line size.

Fully counterweighted crank.
