I saw one being towed behind a motor home a couple weeks ago on our way to Florida.

Nice looking rig; new(ish) motorhome and the Pinto looked like it had been restored or was a nice original.

Pintos are a rare sight indeed these days. The only ones I can remember seeing in the past few years were at shows and were sporting V8s.

The one thing about seeing a Pinto is not that it's strange but that they look like a real car & not just the EGGS on wheels that were forced to drive now. Take the emblems off the cars & step back 30 feet & they all look the same. It use to be you could tell what kind of car it was 100 feet away with no problem at all, but now ,,,,,, EGGS on wheels.

Rear View - January 2014 - Car Craft

If you have been watching NHRA Funny Car racing in recent months, you might know about the new restraints that are being used to keep the body on the car in the case of an engine explosion. This photo of Mickey Thompson's Pinto Funny Car on fire at the '71 Indy Nationals shows the body collapsing at the same point behind the supercharger that Ron Capp's car failed during qualifying this year. We agree with some of the drivers that burst panels on the sides of the cars might be a good solution for a long-term problem. Food for thought.

My neighbor had one in high school. Slowest p.o.s. in the high school lot. He had a 6x6 pressure treated piece of deck framing bolted on the rear for a bumper. Looked a like a simpler version of the attached.
