Any chance you transposed digits in the dealer code? Could it be a dealer zone or company car number?

Bob Hill Pontiac, Winston-Salem, NC is listed on ultimategto without a code.

Bob Hill would be in alphabetically with the H's
(like around 250's)
Would also depend if they took over a dealer or had their own dealer number.

Good point. Guess "Bob" wasn't his last name - LOL. Bleecker Buick in Red Springs, NC had a Pontiac franchise but I think they didn't go active until 1979.

Is that Bob Neil Pontiac? I believe he might have owned both the High Point and W-S Pontiac dealerships at one time.

My 67 GTO and 94 Trans Sport van both sold new at Neil in Winston Salem.
My 65 GTO sold new at Bob Neil in High Point.
Do believe both dealerships had same ownership.

I have a Charlotte Zone Dealer list for August 12,1986 and do not see any Dealer Code 16-043 so assume that dealer was either sold with a new dealer code or closed. I was headquarted in the Charlotte Zone from 1983-1987.

Can you check your list against the one here:

http://ultimategto.com/art18.htm

Reason I ask, I'm pretty sure I was wrong about the timing of the dealer code change (I posted possibly late '70s). My first new car, '80 Phoenix SJ coupe was from Haggerty Pontiac in Villa Park, Illinois.

They were still identified as 10-208 at that time so I think I was mistaken that the codes were reissued in the late '70s.

If they were still the same when you were there, maybe the change didn't happen till late '80s or even the '90s. I know they were renumbered at some point, just don't know when it was done.

Just wondering if you're list matches up or if they were already renumbered.
