I don't have all the facts yet, but it seems HPP is being discontinued. They dropped a lot of titles today at the publisher, from what I've seen on Facebook. Certainly by the next 24 hours we'll know more.

I've read in Hot Rod about shake ups there, which HPP is a part of that group...yee ha not surprised. Wonder how they are going to refund my recent 3 year subscription???...LOL

Maybe that's why Tom DeMauro jumped ship a short while back, he maybe saw the handwriting on the wall????

Sold, I just called and made the switch to MCR.

The lady explained that my subscription had been shortened by 1 month for the Car Craft because the last HPP was Oct and the 1st Car Craft was Oct also, so now my expiration is Aug 2017.

She also tells me a 2nd issue of Car Craft is already "in the mail" to me, so that reduces the no. of remaining issues of MCR I will get.

Hopefully MCR will be a good trade for me.

If they "fold" the remainder of my subsrciption into "Hot Rod" I will do the same thing I did when they "folded" my subscription of "Pontiac Enthusiast" into "Auto Enthusiast". I folded it up and stuck it in the trash can. I may use it to wrap fish, or nail it to the wall of an outhouse. Someone (are you listening Rocky???) should see if they can pull together the resources to start us another Pontiac only magazine.

The only things left on the "chopping block" for me now is Hemmings Muscle Machines and Muscle Car Review. (At least I will be saving money on magazine subsriptions) I will never subscribe to any of these rags they listed as still being available.

It's absolutely true.

It came out of nowhere to those working for or with HPP. We found out this morning that the Editor was let go and by noon we were told the title was dead.

As I understand Time magazine pulled the plug on SORC's distribution side causing a ripple effect in the pond. HPP was one of the titles that sunk.

Since the days it was Thunder Am, HPP had a great 35 year run!

I'm sorry to see it go. I've been a reader since the '80's. I have NO love for "Hot Rag" and hope they DO NOT transfer my subscription to them. I'll go without before I accept "Hot Rag". I will miss the Pontiac specific magazine. I really enjoyed getting the issues and seeing what was new out there. The tech articles came in handy several times now working on my Trans Am. I still have the one on the Hurst Shifter linkage setting in the garage that I used to readjust my linkage after the bolts backed out. Thanks HPP, that was VERY handy!
