I'm still getting grease under my fingernails an huffin' paint fumes....nothing ever changes.....

Partial VIN on your trans should be stamped on the drivers side just above the pan rail....you may have to unbolt the shift cable retainer to see it properly....take your glasses with you (and a wire brush) when you go under....
