Lets face it. How many different ways can you regrind the same old crap from 40 years ago. How many of us old bastards are still alive who care? RIP HPP.

Last Pontiacer out........turn off the lights please. The Pontiac hobby reminds me of my dad's B-29 Bomb Wing
annual reunion......it got smaller and smaller and they turned out the lights two years ago. I would guestimate the Pontiac lights will be shut off in twenty more years.....of course none of us will be alive to notice! . |

It it's any consolation to any of us, regardless of how many hobby guys are still alive, the cars will live on. There may not be many people getting into restoring cars and car club events, but when I roll my bitch down the block, heads turn hard. The appreciation for classic American muscle cars will always have fans. Most of the people who will appreciate the cars will be the general public and not hobby guys like us. Sad but true, but at least, the cars WILL still attract attention after we are all dust. Even my 11 year old daughter has has just realized in the past few years, that the car is something special and gets a total thrill out of getting a ride in the car. She can't wait to drive it herself.
Not sure about that last part....

With B&N it's a "perfect storm" that will likely never provide another issue of HPP, last 2 published months - September & October - included.
After three separate trips over the last couple of weeks to highest volume B&N & others; I was told they are in the process of changing magazine distributors. The HPP inventory on shelf was the August 2014 issue, but their systems shows that they have "the latest issue" ...even though last week was told September HPP was to have been delivered last weekend. It wasn't and updated info by staff indicated that newer issues will more than likely never be stocked. FWIW - I asked if I could order the September issue and B&N doesn't order single magazines, so... |
