I got to thinking about this and did a little research and came up with Loctite/Permatex 21351. It is a rear window defogger repair kit. It repairs broken elements and tabs. Check out this link (if it works) http://www.permatex.com/training/training-videos
If you try this I looked on Amazon, and it had mixed reviews, but it seems as though it was poor preparation. The ones that said it worked great said they watched this video and it had more steps than what the package shows, and another one list the steps that he did. I don't know if it will work, because they say it must use a tab, I could not tell from your picture, but it didn't look like you had a tab. Hopefully I just didn't see it.

PEPI..this is what I mean...the braid gets soldered to this orange grid...the kit (after I opened it)...I believe mentions it is not to attach the braid....I need not to screw up my speaker cut out too!!

PAGE 4?...it has been awhile....bumping up to get back to work on the T/A and I had just installed a rear package tray....how qiuckly they forget...look for a new poor rmans garage....and thankfully I did not have to give the T/A away..but it was close

SO THAT WAS WEIRD...I called on my Waldron muffler and tip pipes (with hangers welded on)..ordered 0n 6/2 and they came today...need to compare to originals and will post photos...nothing like brand new parts to work with...... and somebody up there likes me...

I've got Waldron on my 70 TA. Good fit and the sound is just right.
