Just be sure they aren't a set of the 69 castings with the date codes ground off. The "No Date" castings WILL NOT have the center 96, just the R & A.

BVZ, this looked like the real deal to me. Is it on your list? Owners last name begins with a K. if I remember correctly. He recently moved to Georgia from Colorado. Didn't get an underhood shot but looked mostly correct. I think the heads had RA as opposed to 96. Believe said he bought it in the early 80's.

i don't think that car is on our list .

There is a Voodoo / Ivy 4spd on the list - but it had In-Dash Tach&Gauges , no wood wheel or 8-track. The one i am speaking of was a project car minus engine that sold on ebay a few years back and also landed in Georgia .
VIN ended with B136xxx
Sold new out of Emlenton PA

This one you pictured could possibly be one in the same , but the back history isn't a match. So hopefully it is a new addition to our registry .
Thanks for sharing with us !

Greg, I had to stop by Summit Racing to pick-up some parts last Monday night. As you probably know, they have a cruise night on Mondays during the summer. Amazingly enough the car was at the show. I was impressed to say the least. It sounds like the owner has a few other neat Pontiacs also.

I might have to make that cruise some time. It's just so far for me, especially on a MONDAY night!

From what I remember it is black. I looked at the trim tag briefly. Does '68 use letters for the paint codes?

Yes, letters for paint and numbers for vinyl or convertible top.
Black RAII with a gold interior would make it like that RAII convert everyone knows about. I'm guessing this one is a hardtop? I like the 'no console' look.

i thought it was Dark Green
... or maybe Black
Gold interior swayed me to Green

thats why i was comparing it to the VooDoo Green / Ivy example we already have listed.

Interesting car hope we knew more about it someday.

I think it might be the car/owner that Brian and i were trying to track down from a past HighPerformancePontiac Website posting.

He just joined here with the same screen name (GTOWolf) that had posted on HPP , and sent me a PM. And said he would share some info with us about his TripleBlack GTO.

If same car , he has owned since 1976 !
