Yup. Bonded, not riveted. Though the originals have a weird inset groove down the center of the lining, from top to bottom that replacement linings don't have.

Here's the original brake linings and the wheel cylinder. Note the weird, grooved section in the front shoe.

Hey Steve,
Yes, here is the same weird groove on my cars' drum shoes. Kinda interesting the colors on the springs holding the shoes on. I don't believe the drums have even been off this car but I don't find retainers over the lug threads like you did. The knock out to adjust the shoes has not been removed and I chose to adjust to close fit, then back up / brake to let the self adjusters do their thing.

Well, it was one year ago today that BentwheelBob gave me the heads up on the ebay listing for the SD. And then he blackmailed me into selling him my black 72 455HO. ;-)

We have both been enjoying our cars in the intervening 365 days.

It has definitely been an entertaining year!

Thank you for giving me the chance to be the Black Car's caretaker. Hopefully you agree that it has found a good home. I wish you could have seen it standing tall at the TA Nats with black paint shining. I was overwhelmed by the reception it received and surprised at the number of hardcore Pontiac collectors who took a shot at trying to purchase the car.

I hope the White Car has brought you as much enjoyment.
