On the Brewster '73 -

"Believed to have been tuned by George DeLorean in 1986"

I nearly did a coffee spit-take when I read that. Bit of a reach - even for an auction house.

Mecum is a stickler or any claims. Unless you have paperwork to prove something, they always put in the "believed to be" phrase. When I initially consigned my 17,000 mile hemi charger last year I had to include the scanned documents (and I had a lot!) to prove the mileage before they would say "documented 17,000 actual miles" in the listing instead of "believed to be 17,000 actual miles".

Does anybody else find that $20,000 in 1975-76 dollars is a lot of money to spend to end up going only 11.89 in a 1973 Super Duty Trans Am?
