Personally, I have never heard of a J-code pontiac motor but if I don't know what I am talking about, I keep my mouth and keyboard shut.
GTOFreek-- Calvin is a man of means, years ago he had 3 Lingenfelter twin turbo corvettes, 2 yellows and 1 black 2000-2004 models. He had over $100,000.00 in each one many other cars from 20,000-60,000 that I can remember. As far as Sonny Leonard, I think Calvin was just reaching out to someone to build his engine. I think I will direct him to C&C in Manassas or I will build it. Kinda want to keep it local.

Mr. Held for Ransom, I just repeated what was told to me. That was why I claimed ignorant on the j-code motor. Hopefully I can further my knowledge on the subject with more knowledgable people here. Maybe I can now go back to my friend and tell him there is no such thing as a j-code pontiac engine. I did not post anything about the pluses or minuses of a j-code pontiac motor, only repeated what was told to me. It now appears that there is no such animal, I know that because someone constructively contributed information unlike you that offers a smarta$$ comment.

Yeah, I would check and make sure they still have torque plates for Pontiacs, they've been focusing on Fords and Chevys so much here lately most of the 'other' brand equipment has been gone for some time. And not sure what the turn-around is these days either.

If it weren't for Butler in the process of moving to another location, that would be my suggestion. 4 hour drive each way is within the range of being worth driving it instead of shipping it. They just quoted me last week 4-6 weeks on an unassembled short block, which isn't bad, and would be shorter if it weren't for the move.

C&C just built a 400 for a friend in Woodbridge. Looks and sounds great. Mark will soon bring it down to me for a dyno tune.
I did not know Butler was just 4 hours away. Hopefully they will be moving closer to us.
