Keith - any chance that "Jim Wangers - Pontiac 'Bobcat'" article could be scanned and posted? From that "Speed and Custom" August (year?)...

This is the La Vinta show car photo, cleaned up. Definitely had a pearl paint job. I wonder whatever became of this car?

Yes - I have it scanned but it wasn't stored near the cover. I'll have to look and see if I can find it electronically. August of '63, I believe.

A couple observations/comments:

a) The car pictured in the article is one of the few to receive the Bobcat appearance package for '63. I believe this one is Silverleaf Green, ours was Nocturne Blue and there was at a minimum a third car (a red one, maybe?). Highlights included silver around the grille opening, silver around the decklid and silver above and below the side spear. Body color inside the aluminum wheels was also part of the package. These updates were done in the paint booth at Royal.

b) Mr Wangers loves/loved those spinner caps. Dad was not a fan and managed to keep them off our car.

c) If you look carefully you can see one of the appearance package cars in the background of this shot (by Mr Wangers' left hand).
