165TH, the photos of your car really show off that cool color combo..I know that you saved this car out of a love for TRANS AMs and you really do have one of just a few special ordered color combos...I do want to ask you a few questions about that special interior..1972 blue deluxe interiors are really nice , especially in a white car..1970 had that bright blue...I do not know if 1971 blue is the same as 1972..I do like our perforated vinyl instead of comfortweave...so my question is, was your original dash molded in the 1972 blue?..and the original console would have been the same...also did you use LEGENDARY for your seat covers and doorpanels?...it does look as if you did...what do you think of the quality?...your white door panels and seats look outstanding..are not the deluxe uppers a really cool part (hard to tell that they are a repop and not the original GM)...sitting in that white interior has got to be sweet!!...it reminds me of my 1976 455 T/A that was white/white deluxe...did you go with new seat foam?..was your dash bezel redone?...also was your Formula wheel redone as I can tell its a"fatty"...I am just big on interiors and I do appreciate your white, (mine is boring black)...I had considered going with a tuxedo look, my car had a black standard interior that I had to upgrade to deluxe...and it would have created more work...its bad enough that I changed it as the trim tag tells standard or deluxe...but in hindsight a Lucerne blue with a black/white deluxe tuxedo interior would have really looked more outstanding...that is where the visionary part of our hobby comes in and you must have had quite the vision when you first saw ADRIAN and could envision her back to her original glory...and add the fact that you stumbled onto a one of a few special ordered colors and that it was in the right hands to be completed made yours a happy ending story!...even though my car is not finished your car inspires me to have a paint job as nice as yours!..thats why its cool that PERFORMANCE YEARS has this forum for all of us and we can help each other in "our" hobby...anyway just curious about your interior...and who better to quote than BENTWHEELBOB and we are still waiting on a "smokey burnout" pix!!!!

Well on New Years weekend Adrian made it back home to Texas soil where she previously spent years raising hell with Mopars and MooCows. Punch list is complete and she's looking very fine, if I do say so myself.

I've finally had some time to make a few laps around her (mostly cleaning buffing powder out of her cracks just like you have to do with any new baby) and I just can't give Steve and his crew at Musclecar Memories Restorations enough accolades. The car is really stunning, and your eyes can wander around and just see one incredible detail after the next. Thank you STEVE!

Attached are just a couple of the first ever pictures taken of her in the sun. There will be more!

Let's see if I can get Glenn's questions addressed:
'71 and '72 blue - are they the same spec color? I don't know, but I'm sure someone here can respond and let us know.

NOS dash pad and NOS center console were both black. The blue dye used on Adrian is a custom mix matched to the back lower portion of an original '72 blue front seat cover. I saw the mixed color on the original swatch and it's dead on.

Legendary interior door panels, seat covers and headliner on new seat foam. I'm pleased with their products and the results. I need to get a little sun on the seat covers to try and wring out a wrinkle or two, but I'm confident they will settle in fine.

Fat Formula Wheel is as close to NOS as you will find. Original with no checking or sun damage. Thanks for noticing! It's a great wheel.

The vision for Adrian: Steve and I stood looking at her body when she was pretty naked (like in the picture below) and there was just something about that blue steering column that when imagining the Adriatic Blue and blue/white interior really painted a picture what she could be. Thinking back on that day, I have to admit I didn't expect a result this amazing.

Finally, it's not just you and Bentwheel Bob and the Boss that are requiring a burnout... there's a few others as well (but my wife is excluded from this group), so the last picture is the first phase of project 'Adrian burnout'. Four NOS honeycomb wheels that I've been holding back for something special. Next phase will be putting some BFG 245/60/15 shoes on her and then... we'll see.

As good as it must have felt to have her at MCACN, I'm sure sure nothing compares to having the car parked in YOUR garage. You better oil the hinges on the door from the house to the garage because I'm sure they will get a workout over the next few weeks as you will go out often to see the fruits of your labor.
